Casio Exilim EX-H10HG camera with Hybrid GPS, tracks well for both indoor and outdoor

Casio has unveiled the Casio Exilim EX-H10HG digital camera, which comes with an unusual feature called Hybrid GPS. The camera uses GPS technology to allow you to geotag your photos and it tracks your location.

Other than the usual GPS tracking, it provides alternative tracking by using the accelerometer to track your movement as well as tagging the images. This additional capability allows the camera to track you while you’re indoor, in built-up areas such as you’ve entered a tunnel where satellite signals fail to reach; which is one of the major problems faced by other GPS-enabled cameras.

The accelerometer of the Casio camera also tracks how far you’ve traveled since the camera was able to receive satellite signal. The Casio Exilim EX-H10HG also shows some maps on its LCD screen, which you can use to show where you’re and plot a tag where the photos have been taken.

Anyway, the Casio Exilim EX-H10HG is just a prototype at the moment but it shouldn’t be too far from now for Casio to bring it into market.
