Microsoft Courier gets an Accidental Mention
The MicrosoftJobsBlog accidentally mentioned the Microsoft Courier device on a blog post yesterday. A number of people reported on it including AllThingsD at which point the text relating to the Courier was removed from the Jobs site.
The text on the jobs blog simply read…
Do you already know everything about Project Natal and the Cloud? Is Blaise Aguera y Arcas’ jaw-dropping TED talk on augmented-reality Bing Maps and Photosynth last month’s news? Then check out some of the online chatter surrounding new releases of Window Phone 7 series handsets, Internet Explorer 9 and the upcoming Courier digital journal.
… with the last part about the Courier being linked to an Engadget post from earlier this month about the device.
The Microsoft Jobs Blog is an official Microsoft [MSFT] blog that helps those looking for jobs at MS to find them. Although it’s no where near an official statement made by the company confirming the Courier digital journal device, it does strongly indicate that it is what Microsoft are working on and confirms it’s existence in a round-a-bout way.
When asked by AllThingsD about the comment on the Jobs Blog Microsoft declined to comment and since then the text has been removed from the jobs blog.
I suggest you take a look at the Microsoft Courier posts we made at GadgetVenue to give you an idea about what the device can do. The Courier is a twin screen booklet device that allows you to work and collaborate with other journal users on upcoming projects. The user interface looks sleek and is very innovative. If it does launch and it works as demonstrated on the video it could be a serious competitor in the tablet race.
