Samsung has announced the global launch of their Android Galaxy S SmartPhone at the CTIA wireless event. The Galaxy S smartphone is meant for making the user’s life more convenient, more exciting and integrated”, where the S in its name means for SmartLife.

The Samsung Galaxy S smartphone runs Android OS, is powered by a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, features a 4-inch Super AMOLED capacitive-touch display backed by mobile Digital Natural Image engine technology. The technology that has been used on Samsung LCD and LED TVs, which definitely makes the display of Galaxy S much clearer and sharper, and suitable for videos and imaging.

Samsung will also plan to let this smartphone download full-length movies and TV shows as well as e-Books. The phone is also a social hub that makes quick and easy to connect to social media sites and instant messaging services.

Other goodies of the phone include Daily Briefing for daily news, weather and stock live feeds, all-share inter-device connectivity via Digital Living Network Alliance technology; loaded with ThinkFree allows you to edit and view MS office documents. The Galaxy S will be available in Europe, North America, Latin America, Australia, and Asia soon.

There will be a number of smartphones that run the MS Windows Phone 7 series to launch sometime this year. The few known candidates are Samsung, LG and the most recent rumors even tell that Samsung will have four WP7 smart phones to be launched sometime this summer.

The four Samsung WP7 handsets are said to come equipped with a huge 4-inch Super AMLOED screen and HD video out. We’re unsure how reliable the source of this information is but it should be quite true that some WP7 smartphones to get launched this year as MS should not want to keep the heat of their WP7 to subside.

The first ever 4G smartphone on Sprint, HTC EVO 4G (formerly known as HTC Supersonic) has been officially announced. The HTC EVO allows you to have the super high speed data connectivity via the Sprint WiMax 4G network and packs pretty impressive specs that are close to what the HTC HD2 has.

The HTC EVO packs a huge 4.3 inch TFT screen that boasts resolution of 480×800, powered by a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 1GB internal memory and 512MB RAM. The EVO is also capable of video recording at HD 720p and shooting static images with the 8-megapixel camera at its back. It also has a front-facing 1.3-megapixel sensor which is great for self-portrait and video calls.

The EVO has improved battery life while compared to the HD2, which allows longer talk time, standby time and also makes it great for the continuous web browsing on the 4G WiMax network. The EVO runs Android 2.1 and with the HTC Sense UI on top. It’s also equipped with connectivity such as WiFi, Bluetooth and HDMI out.

No release date has been announced but it’ll be likely launched in the summer. The 4G WiMax high speed connectivity definitely makes it the most exciting and anticipated handset. Engadget has the hands on video.

It’s definitely handy for home owners to be able to monitor the front door using a mobile phone. The D-Link DWM-351 3G door phone is the first of its kind doorbell that serves as an outdoor intercom and lets you use your 3G phone or PC to keep an eye on what’s going on at the front door.

The little D-Link doorbell allows you to insert a SIM card, and it has a 0.1 megapixel camera, speaker and mic. Home owners can use their mobile phone to see the visitor as a snapshot or over a one-way 3G video. And you can even speak on your phone to talk to the visitor who presses the doorbell over a two-way voicecall.

The D-Link 3G doorbell is simply like a traditional doorbell, except its has a SIM slot for your 3G card. The device installs and is powered the same as a traditional doorbell. And it has an LED indicator that shows it’s working. The device will be available through D-Link service providers but the price has not been announced yet.

Nokia is prepping a flagship smartphone for their N-series, Nokia N8-00 which has got some pictures leaked on a Chinese portal. The Nokia N8-00 should come with lots of goodies and the earlier leaked specs tell it has a 12-megapixel camera with Xenon flash, 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen, HD (720p) recording, HDMI port and it runs Symbian^3 OS. Dell Aero is an Android smart phone made by Dell and now on the AT&T promo web page, which hints it’s finally landed on AT&T. The Dell Aero is said as a slightly upgraded version of the Mini 3i which has long been available in China.

There are not many specs on the AT&T page, the only known information is it has a 3.5-inch nHD 360×640 display, 5-megapixel camera, aGPS, WiFi, 3G, support for Microsoft Exchange server and new UI skin.

No information on what versions of Android that the Dell Aero smartphone runs, but since CTIA is kicking off, more information will be disclosed soon. The AT&T promo page also claims the Dell Aero as the lightest Android smartphone.

The Palm’s webOS smart phones, Pre Plus and Pixi Plus, have now been officially announced to come to AT&T. The Palm Pre Plus and Pixi Plus will be sold for a price of $150 and $50 respectively after a mail-in rebate and both will bind you with a 2-year contract.

The Palm Pre Plus and Pixi Plus on AT&T are GSM/HSDPA devices instead of CDMA/EV-DO, similar to the ones Verizon is currently selling. The two handsets will get WiFi access at U.S hotspot and AT&T’s unlimited data plan.
